Plans were changed to remove all track from one side of the mainline and build the town of Three Notch with a number of buildings, a bank, and a park complete with gazebo. Buildings were started and mainline track was added.
Maintenance of Way crews have begun preparation in the town of Three Notch (formerly Northwood Falls) to restore the double track main through town. This module was damaged during the move to our new home. The branch section was broken loose and foam inserts were knocked out.
Work began on an addition to this module to add a three track yard for smaller setups. A 4 foot module was added to one end to provide access to the yard. A new industry took over the spur on this module to make transporting structures more manageable.
Today I added information for two new modules, Three Notch Feed and Union Cutoff, both owned by member Shane Lambert. Both modules are operational (having been used and tested during the Great Train Expo in Shakopee, MN on November 3rd & 4th). Shane Lambert finally finished one half of the track and electrical work on his East Side Produce terminal module. All of the track is spiked and wired, and all of the turnouts have ground throws. Structures and scenery are next.
Work on the roadbed for the produce terminal began this afternoon. The roadbed for the mainline has been graded and preparations for the industry tracks has begun. Today, a crew of 5 employees, accompanied by local officials, successfully surveyed and acquired the rights to over one mile of right-of-way, destined to become the first mile for the newly created CenterTrak railroad. Plans for a small yard, industrial area, and a large fruit handling warehouse were discussed and construction of the mainline should begin shortly. Back to Reality… Read more »
