Compilation: CVRP Emission Impacts and Cost-Effectiveness
California's Clean Vehicle Rebate Project (CVRP) has rebated over 500,000 electric vehicles (EVs) since its inception in 2010. Center for Sustainable Energy, CVRP’s administrator, has conducted ongoing research into the emissions impact and cost-effectiveness of these rebates. Analysis of 2021 purchases estimates EVs are reducing an average of 23 tons of greenhouse gas emissions over the first 100,000 miles of driving.
