In 2023, the Center for Sustainable Energy became the administrator of Delaware’s Clean Vehicle Rebate Program (DECVRP), which provides cash incentives for buying or leasing new light-duty electric vehicles.
DECVRP was launched by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) in 2015 to help accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption, make the transition to EVs more affordable, improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The state offers individuals and businesses $2,500 for new battery EVs and $1,000 for plug-in hybrid EVs.
